Basements are not that common in Florida, but we do come across one now and then. The reason for their scarceness is the high water table in most of Florida. However, there are some houses that do have basements in Florida. If you have a basement and it's wet or damp, we can help you!
A customer in Orlando, FL,
called Florida Foundation Authority because he has had issues with a wet basement for a while now. He had to tear out some of his drywall because of water damage. Jim Pierpoint met with the homeowner and told him how we could use the BasementGutter
system to permanently keep the basement dry.
BasementGutter is a sub-floor drainage system specially designed by the Basement Systems worldwide network. It sits on the concrete footer of the home and a flange against the wall catches water that may pour down the walls. The slots in the drain also catch water from on top of the floor and under it.
Our crew, led by Foreman Mike McDonald, installed BasementGutter around the basement by pulling up the concrete around the perimeter, setting the system at an angle, and repouring the concrete over it. They also installed a SafeDri Pro X
with a SafeDri battery back up. This is sump pump duo that will collect water that drains from the BasementGutter and pump it out of the home.
The customer can now have peace of mind that his basement will stay dry. He will not have to worry about the condition of things he stores in that area of the home, or any mold growth or bad smells.
