Longtime homeowners in Stuart, FL, wanted to make sure their house would be a safe and healthy place to live. They noticed some issues with the crawl space under the house, including its lack of barrier from the earth and failing supports.
They started to search for repair options, and in doing so, the owners came across Florida Foundation Authority’s website. They were motivated to contact us for further guidance and meet with one of our inspectors. Alex Graves then visited the home and completed a thorough evaluation of the crawl space. He then recommended the perfect repair solutions.
Foreman Jonathan Reyes and his crew then transformed the crawl space by encapsulating it in CrawlSeal and stabilizing the above floor with IntelliJacks.
CrawlSeal is a thick and durable liner that completely seals the crawl space to isolate it from the earth. It also acts as a moisture and vapor barrier, and it helps insulate the crawl space. A dehumidifier also was installed to clean and filter the air, control moisture and humidity, and reduce odors and the potential for mold growth.
Several IntelliJacks also were installed to permanently stabilize the above floors and offer the best opportunity to lift them back to level. These heavy-duty supports are made of galvanized steel, which enhances their durability and makes them resistant to rust, corrosion and rot. They are designed to stop settlement, but can easily be adjusted if any settling occurs.
The owners now have peace of mind knowing these trustworthy repairs have enhanced the health and safety of their living environment.
