A representative of a community club in Port Saint Lucie, FL, called Florida Foundation Authority about an old crawl space door. The weathered door was allowing pests and moisture into the crawl space under the building. There also was an excessive amount of water in the crawl space that was causing mold growth and a musty smell.
Our owner and inspector, Doug Secrest, went out to the club to assess the situation and provide a recommendation on how we could fix and protect the crawl space.
Doug suggested replacing the existing crawl space access door. This is a durable access point that will make sure the crawl space is sealed and will hold up during hurricanes and other adverse weather. He also recommended installing the SafeDri crawl space sump pump to keep the area dry and prevent further mold growth.
One of our crews, led by Foreman Mike McDonald, went out and skillfully installed these products.
The club representative and members are happy with the dry crawl space and replacement of the unsightly access well.
