Homeowners in Ormond Beach, FL, have lived in their house for several years, but it wasn’t until recently that they noticed an unsafe area of their property. There were several areas along the front stoop and walkway with settling concrete. These areas were unsightly tripping hazards that affected the safety and appearance of the property.
As the owners started to search for repair options, they found information about Florida Foundation Authority online. They were eager to contact us to learn more about how we could help them, as well as meet with one of our inspectors. Our inspector then visited and completed a thorough evaluation of the problematic concrete. He then recommended having one of our crews use the state-of-the-art PolyRenewal system to lift, level and stabilize the concrete.
Foreman Joshua Ortiz accomplished this by injecting high-density polyurethane foam under the concrete through very small holes that were drilled into the slabs. This material expands to fill any voids, and this allows for the exact lifting and leveling of the concrete. The newly-repaired concrete also was protected by joint sealant.
The homeowners now have peace of mind knowing this unique repair solution has helped them create a safer living environment.
