PolyRenewal Concrete Lifting and Leveling System Creates a Safer Entryway in Winter Park, FL

After recently moving into his house, a homeowner in Winter Park, FL, wanted to ensure the safety of his property. He noticed several areas around the house had cracking and uneven concrete. This included the back patio and front walkway and stoop.

It is common for concrete to fail by cracking and sinking. This can happen for a number of reasons, but the most common cause is sinking soil underneath the concrete. This lack of support system results in unsafe and unsightly areas of concrete.

As the owner began to search for repair options, he found information online about Florida Foundation Authority. After contacting us, he met with Inspector Bill Brown. Bill completed a thorough assessment of the concrete, and he recommended the perfect solution.

Foreman Mike McDonald and his crew used the PolyRenewal System to lift, level and stabilize the problematic concrete. First, very small holes were drilled into the sinking slabs, and injection ports are placed in these holes. Special equipment was then used to inject high-density polyurethane underneath the slabs. This material expands to fill the voids, and this allows for the exact lifting and leveling of the slabs. While PolyRenewal is lightweight, it is extremely durable. It will not wash out, and its quick cure time allows for normal traffic to resume just 15 minutes after installation. Joint sealant also was applied to the joints and any cracks to further protect the newly repaired concrete.

The homeowner was happy this unique repair solution was used on the property to create a safer living environment.

Repairing and Protecting a Pool Deck with PolyRenewal in Stuart, FL

They have lived in their house for several years, but it wasn’t until recently that homeowners in Stuart, FL, began to notice cosmetic and safety issues with their exterior concrete. The back patio and pool deck had areas that were cracking, settling and uneven.

While it is common for concrete to crack and sink over time, this results in unsightly and unsafe areas of concrete. Concerned with their home’s safety, the owners wanted to address these problems for good.

They contacted Florida Foundation Authority for further guidance after finding our website. Inspector Alex Graves completed a thorough evaluation of the problematic concrete, and he recommended the perfect repair solution.

One of our crews, led by Foreman Mike McDonald, used the PolyRenewal System to lift, level and stabilize these problematic concrete areas.

We did this by first drilling very small holes into the cracking and/or sinking slabs, and then placing injection ports in these holes. Special equipment was then used to pump high-density polyurethane foam underneath the slabs. The material expands to fill any voids, which allows for the exact lifting and leveling of the slabs. Joint sealant also was used to fill the cracks and joints.

The homeowners now have peace of mind knowing this reliable repair solution has helped them create a safer living environment.

Creating a Safer Pool Deck with PolyRenewal in Casselberry, FL

During the last several years, a longtime homeowner in Casselberry, FL, noticed some exterior problems were worsening and becoming dangerous. Her back patio and pool deck had several areas of concrete that were cracking, settling, and uneven. This not only impacts the appearance of the property, but its safety as well.

After seeing TV ads for Florida Foundation Authority, the owner was eager to contact us for further guidance. She met with one of our inspectors who evaluated the condition of the concrete. Our inspector then recommended our state-of-the-art repair solution.

Foreman Mike McDonald and his crew then used the PolyRenewal system to lift, level and stabilize the concrete. Once small holes were drilled into the slabs and injection ports were put in place, special equipment was used to inject high-density polyurethane underneath the concrete. This material expands and fills any voids, thus allowing the slabs to lifted and leveled.

PolyRenewal is lightweight, yet durable. It will not wash out from under the concrete, and its quick cure time allows for normal traffic to resume just 15 minutes after installation.

Waterproofing a Wet Basement in Orlando, FL

Basements are not that common in Florida, but we do come across one now and then. The reason for their scarceness is the high water table in most of Florida. However, there are some houses that do have basements in Florida. If you have a basement and it's wet or damp, we can help you!

A customer in Orlando, FL, called Florida Foundation Authority because he has had issues with a wet basement for a while now. He had to tear out some of his drywall because of water damage. Jim Pierpoint met with the homeowner and told him how we could use the BasementGutter system to permanently keep the basement dry.

BasementGutter is a sub-floor drainage system specially designed by the Basement Systems worldwide network. It sits on the concrete footer of the home and a flange against the wall catches water that may pour down the walls. The slots in the drain also catch water from on top of the floor and under it.

Our crew, led by Foreman Mike McDonald, installed BasementGutter around the basement by pulling up the concrete around the perimeter, setting the system at an angle, and repouring the concrete over it. They also installed a SafeDri Pro X with a SafeDri battery back up. This is sump pump duo that will collect water that drains from the BasementGutter and pump it out of the home.

The customer can now have peace of mind that his basement will stay dry. He will not have to worry about the condition of things he stores in that area of the home, or any mold growth or bad smells.

Repairing and Leveling a Sunken and Cracked Concrete Patio in Deland, FL

A homeowner in Deland, FL, had a concrete patio slab he was concerned about. It was settling and cracking due to an insufficient footing and soil erosion. The concrete slab also was on a small slope that was gradually wearing away.

One of our inspectors visited the home to take a look at the patio and determine how Florida Foundation Authority could help.

He explained that we could use the PolyRenewal system to fix and protect the concrete patio. This system involves injecting a specialized foam under the slab to lift it to the desired height. The foam hardens within 15 minutes, has been proven to last indefinitely, and is recyclable and environmentally friendly!

Foreman Mike McDonald and his crew performed the installation. They were able to make the patio even and fill in the cracks to prevent further wash-out under the slab.

The homeowner is very happy with the restored beauty of his patio and removal of tripping hazards.

Replacing a Crawl Space Door in Port Saint Lucie, FL

A representative of a community club in Port Saint Lucie, FL, called Florida Foundation Authority about an old crawl space door. The weathered door was allowing pests and moisture into the crawl space under the building. There also was an excessive amount of water in the crawl space that was causing mold growth and a musty smell.

Our owner and inspector, Doug Secrest, went out to the club to assess the situation and provide a recommendation on how we could fix and protect the crawl space.

Doug suggested replacing the existing crawl space access door. This is a durable access point that will make sure the crawl space is sealed and will hold up during hurricanes and other adverse weather. He also recommended installing the SafeDri crawl space sump pump to keep the area dry and prevent further mold growth.

One of our crews, led by Foreman Mike McDonald, went out and skillfully installed these products.

The club representative and members are happy with the dry crawl space and replacement of the unsightly access well.
