Homeowners in Winter Springs, FL, have lived in their house since it was built 14 years ago. During that time, they noticed an unwanted problem was getting worse. Water was seeping into the house in various areas, resulting in damage to the walls and baseboards.
Hoping to nip this problem in the bud and prevent further damage, the owners were motivated to research repair options. After finding information about Florida Foundation Authority on Home Advisor, the owners wanted to contact us for further guidance.
Inspector Bill Brown completed a thorough evaluation of the home, including its exterior drainage system. He pointed out that the locations with water intrusion and damage also were areas with exterior gutter downspouts. Water was draining and collecting near the home’s foundation, allowing it to easily seep inside. Bill then suggested the perfect repair solution.
Foreman Jonathan Reyes and his crew then upgraded the exterior drainage system by attaching strong pipes to the gutter downspouts. These pipes were then placed in the ground for safety and aesthetics, and they were directed to drain far enough away from the home’s foundation.
Once the pipes were tested to be properly functioning, the dirt and grass was then replaced to cover the pipes in the ground. The ends of these new lines also were concealed by YardWell outlets in the yard. These attachments blend into the ground, can easily be removed for cleaning and maintenance, and can withstand lawnmower traffic.
The owners are pleased to have an updated exterior drainage system that will help keep their home dry.
