After living in their house for several years, homeowners in Merritt Island, FL, began to notice some problems with the back patio. This area, which houses a variety of plants and flowers, had concrete that was cracking and uneven. One of the screen doors also could not properly close because of the settling concrete.
The owners were concerned with the safety and appearance of the home, and they wanted to have these issues fixed once and for all. They saw some of Florida Foundation Authority’s TV ads, which prompted them to contact us for further assistance. One of our inspectors then visited to complete a thorough assessment of the home and its problematic concrete. Our inspector then presented the owners with the perfect repair solution.
Foreman Joshua Ortiz and his crew then used the PolyRenewal System to lift, level and stabilize the problematic concrete.
First, very small holes were drilled into the cracking and sinking slabs, and injection ports are placed in these holes. Special equipment was then used to inject high-density polyurethane foam underneath the concrete. This material expands to fill the voids, and this allows for the exact lifting and leveling of the concrete.
While PolyRenewal is lightweight, it is extremely durable. It will not wash out, and its quick cure time allows for normal traffic to resume just 15 minutes after installation.
The homeowners were pleased this unique repair solution was used on their property to create a safer living environment.
