While they have lived in their house for many years, it wasn’t until recently that homeowners in Oak Hill, FL, noticed problems outside their home. A few sections of concrete along their front and back walkways were settling and uneven.
Concrete can settle over time and then result in tripping hazards. The homeowners wanted to address these issues before any serious damages resulted. They were motivated to contact Florida Foundation Authority after finding information about our company online. They then met with one of our inspectors who evaluated the condition of the concrete. Our inspector then recommended our state of the art repair solution.
One of our crews, led by Foreman Joshua Ortiz, then installed the PolyRenewal System to lift, level and stabilize the concrete.
Very small, penny-sized holes were drilled into the concrete slabs, and injection ports were placed in these holes. Special equipment was then used to inject high-density polyurethane foam underneath the concrete. This material expands and fills any voids, and this allows for the precise lifting and leveling of the concrete slabs. The holes drilled into the slabs are then filled and grouted, and joint sealant was used to seal the cracks and joints to further protect the newly repaired concrete.
While PolyRenewal is lightweight, it is very durable and will not wash out from underneath the concrete. The material also has a quick cure time, and normal traffic and weight on the concrete can resume just 15 minutes after installation.
The homeowners now have peace of mind knowing this unique and reliable repair solution was used to help them create a safer living environment.
