Homeowners in Windermere, FL, have lived in their house since it was built 30 years ago. During that time, the owners have noticed several areas of their driveway had concrete that was cracking, sinking and uneven.
Concrete can settle over time, mainly due to settling soil underneath, and then result in unsightly tripping hazards.
The homeowners wanted to address these issues before any serious damages resulted. They were motivated to contact Florida Foundation Authority after seeing some of our TV ads. They then met with Inspector Joe Travis who evaluated the condition of the concrete. Joe recommended our state of the art repair solution.
One of our crews, led by Foreman Mike McDonald, then installed the PolyRenewal System to lift, level and stabilize the concrete.
Very small, penny-sized holes were drilled into the concrete slabs, and injection ports were placed in these holes. Special equipment was then used to inject high-density polyurethane underneath the concrete. This material expands and fills any voids, and this allows for the precise lifting and leveling of the concrete slabs. The holes drilled into the slabs are then filled and grouted.
While PolyRenewal is lightweight, it is very durable and will not wash out from underneath the concrete. The material also has a quick cure time, and normal traffic and weight on the concrete can resume just 15 minutes after installation. Joint sealant also was used for additional repair and protection.
The homeowners now have peace of mind knowing this unique and reliable repair solution was used to help them create a safer living environment.
