Homeowners in Daytona Beach called Florida Foundation Authority after discovering us online. Their home is built into a hill and they were getting water intrusion into their hallway. The water was causing damage to their home, so they wanted to repair the problem as soon as possible.
Our customer care center set a time for our certified inspector, Ozzie Quiroz, so go out and provide a solution to these worried homeowners.
Ozzie did a thorough inspection of the inside and outside of the home and figured out some waterproofing solutions that would keep the permanently dry. He explained that we could install BasementGutter, a sump pump, and new downspout conductor lines.
The homeowners agreed to have this work completed and were confident it would fix their problem.
Our crew, led by foreman Mike McDonald, installed the BasementGutter system on the inside of the home. BasementGutter is a sub-floor drainage system which sits directly on the concrete footer of the home. It has specialized slots along the side and a flange that sits against the wall. This design allows the drains to collect water coming in from the floor, under the floor, and the walls. This system is installed at a slight angle in order to drain the water into the sump pump.
The sump pump we installed was a SafeDri ProX with a SafeDri battery back-up. This is a high-powered sump pump and battery back-up kicks on if the electricity goes out. The SafeDri can pump 12,000 gallons out of the home by itself in these emergency situations.
The sump pump pumps water out of the home through the sump pump discharge line which our team also installed. This was hooked up new downspout conductor lines which are designed to route gutter runoff and other water away from the home and into the street.
All of these products were installed by the crew in one day. The homeowners are happy with the results and they no longer need to worry about water damaging their home.
