A homeowner in Oviedo, FL called Florida Foundation Authority because the southwest corner of his home was cracked and shifting. The drywall inside was also cracked at the corner of the window. He scheduled an appointment to meet with one of our inspectors to take a look at this issue.
Our inspector went to the home and did a thorough inspection, took measurements, and answered the homeowners' questions.
Our inspector determined that we could use six helical piers to lift the home back to its original position. These are steel supports that can be mechanically "screwed" into the ground to reach a more stable soil layer or bedrock.
Our crew, made up of Mike, Nazario, Michael, and Jose, went out and installed these piers. They have a lot of experience and dedication. The crew was able to lift the home back to its original position and bring the cracks back together. This will also prevent further shifting of the foundation and cracks.
There was also a corner of the concrete slab that was sinking. We were able to level that section with the PolyRenewal system. This is a polyurethane foam that is pumped under a concrete slab through small holes. The foam spreads to fill the gaps underneath and is expertly installed to lift the slab to the appropriate height. The foam is extremely light, long-lasting, and drives within 15 minutes.
The homeowner is very happy with the results of our work. He no longer has to worry about his home cracking or paying for more costly rebuilds or renovations due to foundation settlement.
