When homeowners in Cocoa became extremely concerned about the sagging floors above their crawlspace, they asked their neighbors for help. Their neighbors had coincidentally just had work completed by Florida Foundation Authority. They were thrilled with the work we did for them, so they referred their neighbors in need to contact us.
The homeowners met with our inspector, Jim Pierpoint, and he did a thorough inspection of the crawlspace and determined what we could do to permanently repair the problem.
The floor joists in the crawlspace had weakened over time and were no longer able to support the floor they way they should have. This could eventually cause serious damage or injury if not taken care of.
Jim proposed that we use the proven IntelliJack system to transfer the weight of the floor onto more solid ground.
IntelliJacks are jacks specially designed to support floor joists and beams in a crawl space. These are galvanized steel jacks that can be adjusted to meet the size of your crawlspace.
To install them, our crew of Mike McDonald and Nazario Flores, first install a supportive steel beam along the floor joists on which they would attach the IntelliJacks. Then, they dug holes and filled them with manufactured gravel fill. The experienced crew placed the IntelliJack on the fill and jacked it up to the appropriate height to uphold the floor.
The homeowners now have level floors and they no longer have concerns about sagging floors or home damage.
